In this article, I’ll show you how to prepare crispy fried fish in beer batter in a delicious breading yourself.
In my last post I wrote about my visit to Hamburg at the beginning of this year and reported that the potato and cucumber salad was my real highlight in this fish restaurant. That’s true – but the fried fish really went well with it. So I tried this combination myself and prepared my own fried fish in beer batter.
The preparation time of this recipe is relatively long, as the breading for the fried fish is prepared with light beer and the yeast therefore needs time. But I can only say that it is really worth giving the breading enough time to develop its aromas. The fried fish will thank you in the end!
By the way, I really recommend mine with this fried fish in beer batter Potato cucumber salad – How it should be-
Step 1 For the marinade, mix the egg, milk, flour, beer, salt, pepper and some dill and let it marinate for about 2 h.
Step 2 Remove the bones from the fish fillet, divide it into 4 equal pieces and season with salt. Heat a deep pan with enough oil to about 180 degrees. Then fry the fish in the hot oil for 4 minutes on each side until crispy. Alternatively, deep fry the fish in a deep fryer at 180 degrees.
Step 3 Drain the fish on kitchen paper and serve crispy with remoulade and lemon.
